1983 Pickup Restoration

Hello everyone, I’ve been a long time follower of the forum. Little bit about me, I’m 26, I bought a 1983 pickup when I was 15 and it was my daily until I was 22. Upgraded to a ‘12 tacoma, and I’ve snowballed and wound up with a 3/4 ton 😂. I’m finally at a point in my life where I can restore my first truck. My plan is to keep the body all original, paint the original color, rebuild my axles and maybe put lockers in. The plan is for this to be a show truck that I can daily and have some fun in. I’m in need of good resources for the basics…interior and such. I also want to upgrade the kick panels to hold 6.5’s and wanted to know if anyone has any sources to make that happen. Here’s some pics of the truck through the years and my progression as well. Thanks!

16, felt invincible and took on some water

17 and dumb decided to send it through some mud

About a year ago after sitting on the side of my house for a few years began this journey

On the way to get some work done to pass smog (thanks california)

Ran out of room at the house and had to throw it on my brother and my gooseneck for a while
