1983 LWB 4x4
Finally, after regrettable selling my 1974 FJ40 when I was 17, I have bought another straight axle yota 4x4. First two things I got to do are a new windshield and new carpet. I am going to be asking a lot of questions, so I figured I'd say "hey" to everyone here and also say thanks in advance for the help in the future. I attached a picture of the project. Mechanically sound, runs 70 MPH on the HWY. Needs new bed, hood, and body work/paint. Glad to be aboard yotatech!

As another member said the bed is the unicorn, but you can sometimes find one for relatively cheap. I have been contemplating purchasing a complete 2WD vehicle for the bed and interior. Even though they are a tad different they bolt up. Just need to do a little trimming and slap on the 4WD flares.
Everything else I would part out and scrap. I've seen plenty of them for under $1000 on CL. Repop fenders and such are relatively cheap.

I've seen a few short beds locally but I can never contact the seller before they're gone. Generally a couple hundred dollars. I'm tempted to build a flat bed but with wheel wells, as I actually load heavy stuff into my truck by hand. It's high enough now!

Thanks to all for the responses. I have been searching this site and the entire www for a new front bumper. I have found a stock bumper, but I would like something a little more substantial thats not obscenely hardcore. ANy suggestions where to look?
Also, I am looking for a 100% complete header to tail pipe exhaust system. I can weld, but dont have a welder at my shop. LCE seems to have a good header, but I want the whole system minus the coverter. any tips how to handle? I have two exhaust leaks...one at the exhaust manifold and one right behind the converter. I might as well replace the whole system while fixing the annoying exhaust leaks.
Thanks,
Robby
