1982 SR5 4X4 pickup: Brake Load Proportioning valve?

What is everyone doing with the rear Brake Load Proportioning Valve on your total undercarriage restorations? Is this valve really needed? I'm converting my rear axle to full disk brakes and my gut instinct is to replace the valve with a 'T' block; Just need to know if anyone has dealt with this. Thx

get rid of the original .. with rear discs you'll need the adjustability of a "adjustable" one ..
Cant remember off hand the brand I used on my Trekker , but it works perfect .

I'm running stock brakes front and rear, front disk, rear drum. my valve started to leak, so I removed it. I don't see any difference. I'd remove it, especially with the install of the rear disks.

Provide updates when you do this. I'm in the same boat so would love to hear what steps you take and how it works.

Thanks!

I bought and installed a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve in my '81 build. Haven't used it as I'm still in my build, but heard good things about using them. I also removed the original and installed a "T" in it's place. You can how I installed it in my build thread on page 5. I'm not running with booster but you get the idea. Also looking at a rear disc install down the road.
