1980 toyota pickup lift ?s

im lifting my truck have 3 1/2 in rancho lift and maybe putting on 2 in shackles too but what do i do with the line thats on the rear axle for the brake valve? it is connectoed to the brake valve not sure if i can take it out or do i have to extend the rod some help would be nice thank you

I take it you're talking about the lspv? The thing that's hanging on the frame rail on the passenger side with the metal rod and a couple brake lines coming out of it?

If so, there's a couple options. If the valve is frozen and not letting fluid flow through, you can eliminate it with a manual proportioning valve. If you want to retain the usefulness of it, you can make a bracket that raises the axle end of the rod 4" or so up from the axle. If you don't feel like making one yourself, I believe 4Crawler makes one for the pickups. I went with one of his on my 4Runner because I was short on time and had other projects going when I was getting around to relocating it.

yep the proportioning valve im not sure if it works the rod is all bent up feels like the ass end is comming up when brakes are hit hard. ill have to test it thanks for the advice

unbolt the arm from the axle end and zip tie it to the bottom of the bed.
