yeah tell your brother not to put one in the front only.
I have front and rear lockers...my arms are dead tired after a day of wheeling in 4 low.
a front locker tends to pull in the direction you don't want the truck to go. Tell him to put an aussie or something in the rear. It is much easier to get used to a rear locker in slippery conditions than a front locker...especially on a daily driver...

I have power steering, the locked front end like to pull straight, not left or right.
The stock power steering is not adequate when fighting 35x13.50's and a locker.
I need hydro assist.
I put F/R aussies in my truck for a little over $500. I can go a lot of places with the rear locker w/o locking a front hub.
Just saying from my experience I would do a rear locker first.

Has nothing to do with power steering. When your front is locked up, it binds and your motor is much stronger than your arms.
That is why people usually do hydro assist with locked fronts.
Rear locker is what I'd do, 2 rear wheels spinning and 1 in front.

im running welded up front and an aussie in the rear, the smaller the tire the harder it is to steer locked because the bigger the tire the more it flex's when you turn, i know this because i went from 33's welded to 38's welded and couldnt steer for with the 33's and the 38's are alot easier. although iv broken 3 birfields with the welded i would reccomend upgrading axle shafts if you plan on locking the front.
