Hi. What a great forum.
My truck idles fine but if i try to accelerate it dies. If i floor the gas peddle it gets gas and runs that's how i got it home . Sometimes when i start it, it runs perfect. I changed a the fuel filter. and i changed the throttle plunger when i bought it and put a new float in it. It did sit for a while and the person i bought it from said he dropped the tank and cleaned it out. Thanks for any advice given on how to proceed

 

Aisin carb or Weber? Electric fuel pump or mechanical pump? Spark plugs look chalky or covered in black carbon?

 

Aisin carb, new mechanical pump and new spark plugs but I'll check em again..

 

It could be any number of things but on the surface, based on your description, it sounds like lack of fuel. Open the throttle, leans out, dies.
Made sure that you didn't cross the return-to-tank and the fuel-to-carb lines at the pump?
Do you have a timing light to check ignition advance?
