Did you have to use a spacer to get the later models wheels to fit with out hitting the front calipers?

Yes, I used a 2 in solid aluminum spacer. Really helped a lot. Looks better too.

Here's a few more pics, not the greatest but I'm beat. Will try to get some more tomorrow. Still have to finish welding sides and bottom. It's riveted right now. The guy who owns the shop we used has been doing metal and all other sorts of things forever. He suggested the rivots to make an easier weld. He's awesome.

I had an 89 and loved it! Thought I'd never find another one I liked as much as it. When I came across this one I had mixed feelings but the longer I have it the more I love it! The solid axles the durability and ruggedness. I'm gonna rattlecan it, do some floorboard work, herculiner the floorboards and the bed. Rebuild the front axle, sone other repairs, lift it a little someday, and wheel it!

only thing I think you should do is add that third tie down hook on both sides towards the rear

It looks great! It is sure coming around. Especially in the short amount of time you've had it.

yes, if you want your paint job to last you need to scuff up the old paint so the new paint has something to grip too.

wow this truck is starting to look great, whta color you thinking about?
