1/2 Ton or 3/4 Ton??

So I’m planning on doing my rotors and rear drums and looking at rock auto I’m honestly not sure what I have either a 1/2 ton or the other types. I drive a 82 pickup rwd manual long bed. As I’m sure you know there’s specific rotors for each weight of truck I guess I’m not 100% sure. I appreciate the help if anyone has any rotor recommendations too

I'd use your vin to look it up. It'll tell you most everything you need to know.

I did a simple google search for you and found this: Link

I've noticed some threads here and there that decode the VIN, also.

Good luck!

IIRC the rwd's are all 1/2 ton. My '81 rwd was exactly like yours and it was 1/2, I think it said on the VIN plate in the driver door jam.

Yes very nice truck!

To clarify though, short beds are half ton and long beds are 3/4?

Could you install 3/4 ton braking components on half tons? Or would it be a lot of swapping parts?
