Chrome bumper

I am in need of a chrome front bumper for a 79-81 4x4. I am willing to pay decent money and shipping if someone can locate one for me. It took me about a year and finally located a chrome grill and headlight buckets in Cali. Just need the bumper now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have one that overall is in great shape except for one small ding on it. Except it came off of my 85. Not sure if it'll fit but anything is possible with a little ingenuity. It's been sitting in my garage for almost a year now after I took it off my truck.

The difference aesthic wise are the ends. The 1st gen pickups are just one solid piece. 2nd gens have the black bumper caps at the end. Not sure if all 2nd gen bumpers are like that but I know most are. Including mine.

the 79-81 4x4 bumper is specific to it. others will not fit. no one makes a new one...not even black.

Has to be 79-81. Dont know if he is interested in getting a black one chromed or not....but may be the only option.

Even an original chrome bumper would be in need of rechroming at this point.

85 bumper will not fit.

HiLux you are right. I am looking for the year specific 79-81 chrome 4x4 bumper. It is even different from the 2wd and 4wd versions. I have been looking and it is near impossible to locate one. I am willing to pay good money for one if it is located. I have not priced getting a black one chromed but it sound expensive. Anyone have any idea how much it might cost? Ballpark figure???

I bet if you had a decent black one...with no dents...and no need of repairs...I bet 125 would get it chromed at a chrome shop.

I have a chrome bumper in good shape on the trekker...it has two spots that need to be flattened down on top of the bumper. I looked and looked and looked. Very hard to find.

I would call around to a chrome shop locally and see what they can do...maybe even show up and buddy up with them a little if you can. Show up when they open with a box of donuts and then ask about your bumper....lol.

Otherwise...I will keep and eye out for you...message mightymouse here on yotatech as well...he may be able to help and is a good guy. My personal guarantee he will treat you good.

I would be willing to pay 125.00 to have a black one chromed. I emailed a chrome shop online asking about chrome plating a plastic grill and plastic headlight bezels...........I almost had a heart attach when he emailed back stating it would be 800.00 for the grill and 200.00 each for the headlight doors.

That sounds pretty high man! There must be good money in the chrome business.

That liquid chrome paint system stuff looks to be pretty interesting as well....ever see them do that? Like 5 guys spraying at once...wild.
