From: Indianapolis - Urban off roading anyone?
1982 Pickup w/Flatbed $2,000 Indianapolis, IN
1st generation Toyota Hilux. This has been my daily driver for about a year now. The engine is unstoppable and starts every time. She has never let me down and I've been on several road trips. New battery in the Spring. New clutch in the Spring also. The flatbed has been modified to mount two mountain bikes plus gear but you could easily modify to your liking. She gets lots of looks and conversation at the gas pumps. Lots of potential on-road and off-road.
The good:
Clean Indiana title
20R Engine
4 speed manual transmission
4X4 w/Locking Hubs
Full size Reese Hitch
All lights work with LEDs in the tail
Aluminum flatbed
Aluminum rims w 31" x 10.5" tires.
Eats snow drifts with ease.
Aftermarket header going into one rear muffler. And it sounds pretty good.
New .mp3 stereo and door speakers
The frame is is good shape.
The bad:
The gasket between the transmission and transfer case is gone and leaks fluid. I removed the tranny and case and replaced the gasket with the "super gasket RTV", torqued to specs but it didn't work well. It needs a real gasket.
The tires need replaced. Down to about 25% tread.
There is also some play in either the transmission or transfer case. I'm not sure. I've always meant to covert to 5-speed system.
The header leaks some around pin holes that I welded up mostly around the exhaust pipe connection.
$2000 obo. Send me a PM and let's make a deal!
