I have been looking for a cheap but still useful (i know thats a hard combonation) compressor to be used around the house for small projects, sanding for body work, nail gun, small painting maybe, general compressed air. I was just wondering if this compressor would be big enough to do some small tasks or if I should save for a bigger one (which i think i probabley will end up doing) It's just that for a 100$ CDN I think its worth looking at if I can use it to do some body work, nailing or small paint jobs like those body repairs.

Its just that on a student budget I can barely afford the tires i'm getting for the truck right now, but if this is a decent deal that i shouldnt pass up then I wont. But ive never had much experience with air tools and non with buying them.

That isnt gonna run much, you have to look at the cubic feet per minute (CFM) of the tools you plan to use.

4.5cfm will run your nailer and maybe an impact gun or ratchet if they are low powered-mst need 5cfm or better. It will not run an air grinder, sander or such other tools for very long-you detoriorate the life of the engine if you continously cycle it. The tank itself isnt big enough other, to doo body work and even light body work with minimal use you want about 25 gallons or more.

Notice the CFM rating is 6.5/5.5, most air tools run at 4 CFM on average so this will work fine formost things so long as you dont use up your air to quick. A trick to fixing this is to hook a series of tanks, hook one inline into yours and when that one empties the air from the other compressor is able to be used and the compressor kicks on.

 

Alright thats what I was thinking Ill prob start saving up for something. Yes we have a home depot, that compressor is $600 here but doesnt seem to have a much higher output but I guess its the bigger tank size that helps.
