Should i go with the larger 1/2"? Girlfriend is getting me a present and i want to get something that I can't pull myself to buy. I will prob be doing an engine rebuild in the spring or summer.

3/8"-drive torque wrench, with 25 - 250 lb. torque setting
1/2"-drive torque wrench, with 30 - 250 lb. torque setting
Lifetime manufacturer's warranty

 

Go with 1/2" drive, since most bolts that have torque requirements in that area will require a 1/2" drive socket anyway, and you can use a 1/2"-3/8" adapter if need be.

Get a small setting one too, as a lot of bolts take 25 ft-lbs or LESS.

 

If you want a 3/8" torque wrench, make sure it handles much lower torques, like 1-50 ft-lb... I need to get me one of them as my Craftsman 1/2" TW only goes down to 25...

 

Yea - you really need one of each. I've got a 3/8" that goes from 20-100, and a 1/2" adapter that I use as needed. But I wish I had a 3/8" that covered torque's from 5-20 or more, and then a bigger 1/2" for the larger jobs.

 

I will second one of each. I have 4. One that does upwards of 350. One that does the 25 to 150. One that is like 5 to 70. One that does inch lbs, for gear instals.
