Ratcheting load binder question?

I've never used one so i'm not sure if it's what i need to tackle a specific job- (bend my IFS drop arms back in place).

Will ratcheting the handle pull each hook closer together like on a come along?
Heres what i'm looking at...

Yup, thats what it does. Make sure the travel is as far as you will need. Not sure how you would set it up to work for your purpose.

I rigged a ratcheting tiedown strap to hoist a 250# part off a truck (all I could find to use away from the shop). Accidently dropped it when the mechanism tripped. Glad I was clear.
