Hella Micro DE fog light's

Just wanted to share my opinion and experience on Hella's micro DE fog lights. First off I was looking for something to fill in that space in between the headlights and my rig. I tried KC fog lights but after having them on a lot i ended up melting the plastic lens with the stock bulb it came with. I then tried KC's flood light and still wasn't pleased with the output. I then turned my attention to Hella's micro DE fog lights mainly because it had a projector style lens. At $125 they are a little pricier than the KC's. The light out put was better than the KC's but still wasn't pleased so I retrofitted some 35 watt 3K HID's into them and got just what I wanted. The cutoff line is sharp because of the projection lens so you can have them on and won't blind oncoming traffic. I'd recommend these to someone wanting to fill in the space between their headlights and have a low wide pattern to it. My only complaint about the Hellas is that the holes that are used to mount the light are not threaded and I had to use their self tapping screws to mount it. If you over tighten them (like I did) then they will strip.

Here are some pictures I took while i was parked in front of my GF house. I will try to get some cut off pictures tonight.

i agree looks very nice. what bulbs you got for headlights. also what hid set up did you put in the hellas. i thought about doing something similar but am afraid the cheap kits will brake. i really like the light out put in your shot from the 2lane road.

Thank you everyone. In my headlights I just have some regular halogen bulbs that came with the Autopal headlights I ordered off of ebay. As for the hellas I put DDM HID kit. If you do decide to go with DDM get their slim ballast kits because I ran those for 2 years with no years with no problems. When I redid my setup I cheaped out and went with the cheaper raptor HID kit from DDM and have already had 2 ballast go out, part of the reason I'm switching over to LED. The second shot is just the Micro DE's. They are almost the same as my regular headlights but a lot wider pattern.
