Windrock May 30th, a day i'll never forget....

I would like to thank everyone who came on this trip for the effort and team work that was shown today.

Had a great turnout, 2 third gens, a first and second gen, and kevin in his jeep.

So we started off the day going up 22, then we went over and went down 16. Had some problems with clearing mud out of tires (Evan).

At the end of 16, we met two dirt bikers. One had a clutch problem so we helped him fixed it, and they go driving off hauling ass in one direction. We saw them then haul ass the other way, next thing we hear is the crying for help.

We came down to see one of the dirt bikers had lost control and crashed into some pretty nasty gravel rocks. We were lucky to be there and hear them, he had a broken hip, nasty side puncture wound, and many bruises and gashes. General first aid was started (whitewater runner) with what medical supplies we had in our trucks, and 911 was called.

Evan and Kevin hauled ass down 16 to meet the ambulance people and show them where this biker had spilled. They came with there 6x6 and put him on a back board and onto the 6x6 to get him to the ambulance, which took him to the helicopter to UT Medical center. We loaded up the dirt bike into whitewater runner's 2nd gen and headed to camp with the other biker, and then we proceeded to pack up camp with him so he could go to the hospital.

I use the term "we" in this article because there was no one hero that saved this situation, it was a team effort. I am proud to be a member of a group of people like we had today at windrock. Everyone showed team work and help in this situation, and a lot of help was needed.

Thank you all,
Chris Rolison

I got one pic:

Edit:
and no one can make fun of me for how much i carry in my truck anymore.

"He is conscious just in really bad pain, seems he broke his hip, leg, arm, and back"

Then the real kicker that just makes it all worth while was when i recieved this one:

"Thanks so much for everything idk what we wouldve done without you. Make sure everyone gets a huge thankyou and stuff for helping...I dont think he remembers any of you but ill explain it to him later"

It amazes me the things that seem to happen when things are put into perspective and seeing the magic that God himself can work. A week ago I did not know Rich at all, but after getting chased down Western Ave. by this crazy man I end up talking him into coming on the trip today. Needless to say the skills that he showed at the scene and being the medic he is proved needing for the situation that took place.

i just want to go ahead and elaborate on what Chris said and go ahead and say that the group of guys that i spent my day with today, well, I will wheel with you guys any day. Not only being able to show the character and thought of a man that we just met to take time out of our day to help him, then minutes later help him in an even bigger way, is something that i will remember for the rest of my life. Between Rich doing what he does best and Kevan absolutely giving hell to his Jeep just in the name of saving someone, is something you dont see alot now and its good to see that some people still have that character.

An eventful day with many pictures to come, but i just wanted to get that out there and let it be known to what the TTORA community as well as this great group of individals has.

Thanks to all who had a part,
Evan Patterson
pics soon to come

At SE4RJ6 a guy flopped an FJ40 and snapped his right arm in half. His group had him at the hospital (5 min away) in less than 15 minutes and probably saved his life and his arm.

Glad you were there to help and this is why I don't ride bikes anymore.
