TTORA Takeover 2010
WOW. Way to much to say and the thought train is a rollin.
First, Thanks to the staff for the awesome organization of Takeover 2010. It was truly dummy proof.. Except for finding dishpan trail head :p
Second, Thank you to ALL of the sponsors. From Marlin Crawler to Allpro Offroad, Demello and Rock Solid Toys, to TG abd ICON. We couldn't have asked for much more in that raffle.
(I walked away with a TG optima battery box and a Marlin Crawler 2.7 Clutch kit.)
Thanks to everyone that came up and wheeled in my backyard.. We had some of the Vegas guys as well as Phil from norcal.. Stealth doesn't count
Hope everyone Treaded lightly and picked up as much trail litter as possible. I know I picked up about 10 beer/ soda cans, that had been left by who knows, on just one stretch of 3 mile trails.
Me and Troy (Troyboy162) were signed up for the same runs, so I got the opportunity to watch him clean the cobwebs off of his sliders and hilift
Together me And Troy ran about 97 Miles worth of dirt road and rocks.
Our game plan was:
Friday: Scheduled Dishpan Creek run (led by Sar_Squid) After that Troy and I ran John Bull backwards. Deff a different experience.
Saturday: Scheduled John Bull then Gold mountain, hosted by Allpro. We didn't have enough time before saturday night dinner to run gold mountain.
Sunday: Scheduled Bullfrog JV run (led by BASEJumper) After that Troy and I split and ran Rattlesnake Canyon which led us to a Hammers style trail called Mottino wash.
Pics
FRIDAY Dishpan/ John Bull Backwards:
This day our lineup consisted of (in no special order) Sar_squid, Troyboy162, me, Drew (WTF is your username?), JDblatt, Skip, and Mike. Can't forget George

Those are a couple pics from Dishpan..
These are from John Bull when me and troy split from our group.

Finally we made our way back to camp and had some dirty rice and newcastle. (BAD COMBO) Will make your truck smell like absolute the next day :lmao:

SATURDAY: John Bull led by ALLPRO
Great day, our group was huge but we made it through with relative ease. No huge carnage.

At the end of John Bull, with 2.5 hours until dinner we decided not to run Gold Mountain.
The 1 pic I got at dinner

SUNDAY: Johnson Valley Bullfrog. Led by BASEjumper, and me :p Rattlesnake and Mottino wash afterwards We had a small group on the Bullfrog run, which made it easy to finish the trail in about 3 hours. It surprisingly wasn't too hot down in the desert..
Camp..?

You can see why the trail is called Bullfrog

How many points for frank? :lmao:

Our group for BF

I ended up KILLING my drivers front fender on BF. Stupid optional line and I wasn't paying attention.
After BF me and troy split and ran Rattlesnake Canyon which led us to Mottino wash. Very fun trail.. we didn't have many problems. I can see why the requirements were what they were.. but I got 0 body damage on this trail.. same with Troy.

Troy giving me a Hilift demo

On our way out we found John the Bull.

Thats mainly all I got.
It was awesome putting faces to names.. Great wheeling with new people.. Great time all around.
Jamie, thanks for getting the campsite, it was badass.
Takeover 2010 was deff an event to remember.

Thanks for the comments guys. I had a great time. I'm lucky I have all this wheelin in my backyard
I'm beat for sure.
The weather up there was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. A little warm when standing around in the sun.. but under a shade tree was perfect. Hell, even down in the desert for BF, Rattlesnake, and Mottino on sunday it wasn't very hot at all. George the Bulldog was awesome. Those English bulldogs are one of my fav breed.

Its a wise man I rescued from a canyon at Calico OHV. Someone took him there and wasted some buckshot.
Check post 1 again.

There's a pic a bunch of posts back.... it's a Gift for Baby Jesus. Can't make out which one it is... Maybe a box he has open? Toward the top of this page, ..you'll see it, he's sitting on the ground all by himself in the pic. lol.
