Yeah, so does the Epic Mobile. I wasn't paying enough attention on that last stretch of uphill choss and I nailed a pointed boulder way too hard. Bent the rim, too. The tire stayed on, but it's clearly damaged. But, hey, that's what the warranty is for!
We had a great time! Good to met all of you -- it was the first outing I had been on and the first real test for all the mods I've done on my 4Runner the past two years. I'm pleased to say the Epic Mobile performed admirably. I didn't get stuck anywhere all day and feel like I could tackle some harder trails in the future without any additional mods. I only banged the front skid plate once and the rear trailor hitch once. I've gotta get that Sonoran Steel rear bumprer. ;-)
I really enjoyed checking out the mods on everyone else's vehicles. I was behind JGM most of the day and it was a lot of fun watching him cruise through all the obstacles with barely a second thought. The flex on his ride is wild.
I have some photos, but haven't uploaded them yet. I'll try to do so tonight.

I had a great time too. I think that was just the right trail, stock trucks had to try but made it through. Built trucks had to pay attention and everyone was happy, another great day of wheeling.
I tried to make sure everyone go through OK, so I did not take too many pictures, but here is what I did get.

Next run will be early January and we'll up the anty a bit....

As promised:
Lined up and airing down. Mine is the rig with all the stickers.
BLKNBLU negotiating the first real obstacle of the day:
Not sure who's Taco this was, but it looked cool and made it through the trail nicely:
The Epic Mobile, mid-trail and just before the good stuff began:
'Runners lined up to negotiate the beginning of the creek bed. This was a tough stretch of crawling and picking the right line:
Toward the end of the creek bed -- these guys in a nearly stock 2nd gen managed to get through the worst of it with some good driving and spotting. I was impressed that they made it.
And the end of the conga-line with the Diva bringing up the rear:
That's all I've got! Good times.

Sorry it took me so long to get these up...
Great time as always. Was I the only one to get body damage? It seems I always end up getting dents from something totally rediculous. This time a dirt biker clipped my fender while I was letting him pass. The worst part was that I had to ask him for an apology. Obviously an alumni of Schmuck University. A story behind every dent I guess, on with the show.

thanks for the kudos ed.
That one wash was funny, more than a dozen vultures waiting with to see the carnage.
I had more trouble with the last "obstacle" because I didn't get out and walk the whole thing, and it was tough. But I got some good spots.
a locker would have made life a little easier. A solid axle would have been nice also, but neither needed; however, remembering the old fj has got the wheels turning....
I did a little digging and it turns out Sunflower mine was a mercury mine. Cinnibar ore (mercury oxide) was heated in that large tube, as the mercury burned off it was collected in the series of verticle tubes at "camp homeless" then bottled and sold. Mercury has wonderful side effects like insanity (mad hatter's disease)

Either one of those would sound good to me. We were thinking the next big group run right after the first of the year as the holidays are coming and everyone is busy with that.
What were you thinking?
