it's a PITA to clean all the mud off the car, not to mention engine bay...yuck. I took it to a car wash and used the engine degreaser things, works good. I know a lot of detailers mix acid and water to clean the under carriage, I was shocked to find that out, yikes. It does make you grin when you're truck is covered in mud. Same when other people look at u like you were a mad man or go "where the hell did you go with that thing?"

Well you have to start soemwhere ! If you want to save youself soem breakage...delete the runningboards and the fenderflares, the lower valance under the bumper and the frontguard will go the minute you hit soemthing with it...
then just go for soem bfg m/t or a/t's.
There is alot you can do without spending alot of money that can help you along the way.
My 95 is not lifted yet but in a few weeks only going for 2 inches and all i have to do is swap rear coils and front torsion bars, add lowprofile bumpstops.
hers a few samples from yesterday...If we had aired down we would have gone farther but we were lazy.

Looks like that could be a pretty nice bass pond! Should've brought your fishing pole and some aluminum sandwiches. Also, that picture that you doctored in photoshop really came out good, definately home page worthy.

yeah ... my first time out was with highway tires and a tiny tiny lift ... i got stuck in the mud bogs twice but for the most part was incredibly impressed with the performance of the 4Runner near-stock. i did almost flip though. i have flashbacks about it.

and no need to photoshop that photo - i think it looks awesome enough as it is!!

It was a really good first run for your stock runner, anyway, I wouldn't say crazy ˟˟˟˟˟, but I have been running these trails for a while now so maybe I am just numb, haha. Next time you go out though, you will have lost all "its my first time" excuses and I will have to start harassing you if you skip stuff. That is what tow straps are for, right?
Like this little MUD PUDDLE for example.

After your first stuck you lose more excuses and after your first dent, you lose even more excuses, hehehe (evil laughter)
BTW, which mud pit are you talking about that you almost didn't want to cross? I don't specifically recall...I know both you and eric bailed out on that one by the lake just because I almost got stuck in it when it dropped off about 2 ft, scraped climbing out, almost got stuck in the muck beyond it and juuuuuust slid by a tree without denting my truck, (note: you had an excuse, you had no lift and poor tires, eric didn't though, thats right eric, calling you out brother)

EDIT* I was looking at the pics, I remember the puddle now, about half the time I was in that puddle I was on the skid plate. I also realized looking at those pics that I need to hurry and get the cash to regear and buy new tires and rims, damn does my truck look sad (red tacoma). (tjm t17 should arrive within the week and assuming someone wants to help me out with some welding I will have a new rear bumper as well)
