Into the wild, Take 3

For part 1: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f100/into-wild-near-healy-ak-70633/

For part 2: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f100/into-wild-take-2-a-76955/

And for the video :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDciXKey4nc

Anyway- this was was a trip last weekend (5/19/07) that was just going to be a atv trip back to some of the spots I have had so much fun at (see previous posts). About 7 miles back I came across a wayward soul by himself, stuck, not so much as a plastic shovel or piece of rope, and too afraid to hike out.
I went back, grabbed the truck and one easy tug and he was good to go.

Anyway, it is interesting to see the difference from winter to spring. Things still weren't very green or all the way thawed out, but still quite contrasting to some of my previous trips.

Nice videos.

Good job on giving the guy a pull. Was he really out there for a day and half and what was he driving?

Thanks- I had been camping since the day before at the trailhead and didn't see him go by, so I know he had been out there at least that long.
He was driving a Nissan mid 90's mini-suv, with street tires. It was actually good he got stuck where, and how he did, because about 100 yards beyond that point is a bog/swamp with no winch-able trees that it was challenging to get an ATV across. (that is why I waited until winter for most of my trips in my truck).

Makes you wonder how Darwin hasn't claimed him yet....

Kudos to you, looks like a nice area.

I just found out that mtcaving is the fellow that sold the instrument cluster on Ebay awhile back. How much legal trouble did that get you in, if any?

I see you haven't logged on since January. Hopefully you'll come back to Yotatech.

I have no quams with the morality of it at all, though I see it caused quite an uproar.

No need to drag up a thread from a year ago with the sole purpose to bash on someone guys..... It's water under the bridge at this point.

Still here

Still here, just have limited time. I don't mind getting bashed, as long as the bashing involves some honest thought into the subject rather than just name calling, and am more than willing to discuss what I did, and why, with those who are interested. Even willing to admit I may have made a mistake, if someone can convince me. Hasn't happened yet, but eventually it could.

Anyways, try this for a link to pictures:

See if it gets you anywhere.

Ok, now I want to know about the bus not the kid. How did the bus get there? Every time I search I get the story about "Into the Wild" but nothing says how the bus got there or why it is there.
