I know i ALWAYS wear my seatbelt when wheeling, i know i'm not very good about wearing it on the street, but if i am in the dirt its on. With my limited amount of wheelin, i have not seen the possiblilty of rolling/fliping into water, there has been a couple scary spots that other people in the group appeared to be getting into trouble but no water was involved.

Your seat belt release clip always works, the only thing that locks up is the extension mechanism at an angle. So it is always recommended to drive with it on. If you get into trouble, i.e. water just unclip it and get out.

We should take this question seriously and plan another muddy run while we still can. We've been getting lots of rain lately! Maybe in 2-3 weeks?

yeah i have some updates, sorry haven't been on the boards in a while.

got the truck cleaned up. took about a month or so to get it all back together. (2 weeks of that was in the shop)

had to get the transmission rebuilt, changed all the fluids (water only got in the tranny, stayed out of the difs, engine, etc). had to replace the alternator. lost one amp (under drivers seat) and the driver door speaker. replaced with stock speaker for now and haven't replaced the amp yet. the subs and other amp were fine. had to replace the battery on my laptop as it had gotten wet and shorted out. i salveged all the interior pieces. the carpet is still dirty, spent a lot of time using cleaners on it and vacuuming it and stuff. so i just got some husky liners to put over it. good as new. thankfully there is no smell or anything from the carpet (i guess i got it clean enough). good thing is that i tore out all that padding that was on it so i reduced the overall weight of the vehicle some

overall it set me back about $2500 so far, $3000 if i ever fix it all.

runs pretty good. still has a couple odd noises here and there (guessing from dirt in various pumps/pullies) nothing that i am worried about though.

still need to replace the headlight though, i got all the water drained out, but there is a layer of mud on the bottom of it.

Man I can't believe it's been 15 years since this trip and probably almost that many since I last posted anything. Life got way busier for me about this time and I stopped visiting the site on a regular basis. I hope y'all are doing well and safe during these weird times.

Yes I made it back and replaced the entire CV axles the following week . Jaderunner is still going strong after reclaiming it from my son who saw it as just another car. I hope to have it another 15 years.
