Well I just want to say it was great to meet everyone this weekend. I am sorry we were not able to meet Pierre and thank him for the work he did setting this up.
We pulled in to the campground late and by the time we had the tent set up inside everyone was pretty tired and just want to go to sleep.
Saturday was fun with the trip to the Racetrack
and then later a little mud play.
Sunday was a mix of desert washboards, a nice hike to a waterfall,
Checked out an abandoned mine site (complete with a home made swimming pool),

Stopped at the Manson hideout,

and ended with a little rock action.

Sunday night at the geologist cabin was very nice.

We enjoyed sitting inside with a warm fire, good company and plenty of food. That night we were visited by a donkey that some of us may have heard (at least my wife says a donkey came by).
We caught a picture of this jack rabbit as we went around a corner it even came closer when we stopped and rolled the window down to take this picture.

My wife also found this little snake hiding under a board at on of the mine sites.

Monday was another washboard road which we passed several mines stopping at the White Point Mine just before we parted the group to head home.

I had a fun time on this trip, I'll post pictures as soon as I get them uploaded. Met a bunch of terrific people and the trails had plenty to see. Standing in the lowest place in North America was quite different at -284 feet........

Ok, more pics! These were taken by Glenn and Daniela. Glenn is my new neighbor who i convinced to join us on this trip. Of note, Glenn's a new member under the name "Detective Mackey"
What i thought was an easy trip because of the fairly easy trail conditions last year, turned out to be a little more difficult than last because of the ruts and large rocks caused by the rain runoff. Daniela let me know how much she enjoyed it by choking me once she got out of Glenn's car when we reached a stopping point. Here's the happy couple and that nice, young lady who has quite a grip...i think she left some hand prints!

Speaking of marks, let's get this one over with. Remember the hot coal that embedded itself on my calf? Here's the pic. Oh yeah, bust out your little mini-violins:

Here we have some of the guys rolling into the trailhead. Notice dfireballd in the white doublecab. He was the only non-4runner on the trip:

Here's Lance and I conferring on which direction to go:

Here we all are after airing down:

some great views here. here's some snow in DV. Who knew?!?

And here is view from the famous spot we all know from last year that is affectionately known as "Loverboy Lane". What's Loverboy Lane? I don't know, but ask Goodtimes. Oh, he got 1 bar here!

Here's another lineup shot. It was really windy in this pic:

Mud! Glenn's truck all muddied up. Oh yeah, at this point, I learned that Glenn's 03 Sport Edition is leased!

Remember that idiot kid in elementary school w/ the evil grin who loved those rainy days? Here he is, all grown up, but reliving those glorious days in a different way:
