Crown King Backroad Feb4'06
How could most people in the country relate to this experience?
First weekend in February.
80 Degrees, and sunshine.
4 wheeling 20 miles gaining 3000ft in elevation - from Saguaros to Pines.
Drinking PBR in an Saloon that miners drank in 100 years ago (about the last time PBR was popular).
Here are some pictures
Arizona is truly awesome.

That's an incredible trip. The terrain, the weather, it all looks perfect. Nice trip guys. Plus the badass exocages. That saloon is my kinda place. If only every trail had a saloon at the end...

...we were on the LP/CK trail the same day! Ran the '98 Taco over everything but the "Skill Development Hill" and the right hand optional srection past the "Steps". Only place I got a slider was at the Oro Belle - tried to take the sharp left turn at the top of the new trail in a single swing.
Was there a gold Taco w/ broken passenger side A-Arm on the cliffs prior to the Oro Belle? Man, that was it freakin' HARRY getting by it!!! My buudy was in a CJ on full width axles...

wow...thats twice this month on the same trail, same day
...so have you guys been following us lately or what??!!
I am always impressed by those new tacomas, great all around trucks. Yeah, I tried to take the new bypass at Oro Belle in a single swing as well, wasnt happening with the terrible turn radius of Toy 8" front axle and long wheel base truck...i even caught my slider as well...nasty turn especially with the concrete footing at the corner just waiting to tear a sidewall on a rear tire.
We did not see the gold Taco on the cliffs...we must have been pretty far ahead, good thing because that would freak me out along those cliffs trying to pass. Thats a recipe for disaster...especially on full width. NO THANKS!
We passed about 25 jeeps before hitting the flats along the creek where everyone takes a break...and we just continued on and arrived in CK about 1pm. I witnessed and helped save a jeep from just about rolling down the soft shouldered bypass on the 'rock hill'. He got too far off on the shoulder and slid way off the road...
That was a great weekend for a CK run...this weather has been awesome, but we'll be paying for it this summer. Better get your wheeling in while the forests are open!

We got to CK about a 15:45 - didn't stop tho...
Took a couple pic's of the broken rig with a freinds camera (left mine at home) and as it turns out the memory card failed when they tried to download...
Not sure what caused the damage - the lower ball joint was off the A'Arm and the half shaft was ripped apart at the tripod joint
