That was about the point in the day that I didn't think we were going to get him out. I guess I was giving him the "You're screwed, I don't know WTF to do" look while spotting

Hahahaa, you can see his spare T-case output on the ground, I didn't notice it when we were picking up parts.

WE FOUND THE RING!!!!!! It was where she got out to spot me over the rock garden. Special thanks to Mark, MtnRunner (CO4x4.org) for the metal detector. While it didn't pinpoint the ring, it helped us know where to start digging!

Thanks to all for the kind words

We met a few peeps on the trail, who were very perplexed as to why we were up there wandering in and out of their Jeeps with the metal detector. One of them kinda scoffed at us thinking we were treasure hunters... But once they learned that we were looking for the lost ring, most were pretty supportive. One of them even started honking in celebration with us when we found it.

Again, Thanks to all! Now on to getting this thing insured...

Danny- thanks for your help with the thread postings and searching last week! Would you please let the fine peeps on Front Range know that we found it and thank them for me for their offers?

I guess I meant why did Aaron feel that Jared was going to have issues making it out? Did he bust a front R&P, locker, or axle or something?

Every line we took him through he got hung up bad enough that a winch wouldn't get him out. We tried numerous lines with the rig and the winch and none of them seemed to be working. The left line would dig his spring hanger into the rock. If we took him on the right line that Cory went up it would destroy his driver side which still was in pretty good shape. We finally got it to a point where the spring hanger didn't catch but high centered him really bad. It did seem like nothing was going to work. We had to move the winch point yet again to get him off the rock that he was high centered on. The different angle pulled him off, but flopped him in the process.

We had one rig with a broke R&P and it took two winches to work him out.
