Well thanks to the fact that I was THE rig that caused the late start on Sunday, I really didn't concentrate much on the picture taking this trip. Leslie and i still had had a blast. Special thanks to Andy, Brandi, and Marc for helping me get back up and running. Her are the three pics that were halfway decent.

Ami's Acres campsite (turns out we were the only ones who stayed there)

View starting up Pearl pass (notice how small the runner in the bottom left looks)

Coming down the "far side" of pearl pass

Great job ric and marc. Sorry we didn't srick around for monday. Also ric, stop kicking yourself, the raffle rocked. I wish I would have come home with some of that stuff....gotta pay those kids more next time.

Great scenery.

Total Rigs in attendance?

With respect to magazines, coverage would be awesome. They are usually sticklers for only publishing pics that have not been on the net before. I think Andy had this problem with the SE4RJ stuff.

And the next cycle begins. Five years ago a group gathered on trails like that and a trend was started. Since then paths have been established and traveled, a lot has changed. Hopefully this cycle will be as rewarding for you all as the last was for me.

There has to be some better commentary about that truck off track in a flat spot with nothing else apparently going on.

The picture commentary is that even though he had been playing around all day ( I was tail gunner and directly behind him then and for most of the day), he seemed to do nothing that would have caused him to go over. One second he's driving across the shelf, the next his whole ride is sliding straight sideways off the edge. Crazy thing to watch. No dumb moves just dumb luck as far as i could tell. Thank goodness a 1 1/2 inch wide aspen can hold a truckload of weight or he would have done at least a full roll if not more. Scary.....

Well can't say I'm sorry I missed pearl pass, sounds like you guys had fun but 12 hours in my rig and 4 not going anywhere sounds like too much. Wish monday's run wouldn't have been canceled but on the plus side I missed all the holiday traffic on the way back to Denver.

Ric and Andy, great job putting this thing together, I know it was no small effort on both of your parts and really appreciate it. Same goes to the Sponsors that made the raffle in itself worth going...

Now here are a few photos

This happened after probably 10+ hours on the trail. Everyone keeps asking what the heck happened and honestly I don't know. I am pretty sure I was just driving pretty much on the edge for a while and I drove over a loose gravel spot and went SLOWLY over the edge. The worst part that not a single pic captured is that all that brush is the tops of large bushes. The ground was at least 10 ft down. I just happend to have a perfect view of the ground where I was sitting. There was a small rocky stream at the bottom of the story tall cliff. The whole extraction took about 20 minutes and there was some good traffic built up by the end. I can't believe I didn't go over. I think the main reason was the small rut that my passenger tires sort of "hung" onto. I am pretty sure the truck was in excess of 45 degrees. My stock gauge was way over pegged.

MAJOR thanks to everyone who helped put my butt back on the trail. I am very grateful.

The whole event was fantastic. I very much so enjoyed meeting all the new people and experiencing the western slopes. I just wish we didn't have to wait a whole year to do it again!

I will get more pics up soon, although most of mine are kind of blurry.
