Mosquito Pass

Doug and I had a great time meeting everyone. It was a great day weather wise also. We took the Weston Pass home and that was also a very nice trail. Mostly fire road but a little rocky in some areas but beautiful scenery. Two passes in one day total mileage from Fairplay, Mosquito Pass, Weston Pass and back to fairplay was 60 miles. Thanks for the great day everyone. Will post some pics maybe later today.

Great pics, it always blows my mind how much Colorado looks like the Yukon.

So many great trucks in one place. Gotta love it!

Urrgh, that Radiator.

Hey all! Thanks for your concern, and we did get home okay. The trail made the hole bigger in my radiator and we had to pull over to try and fix it...no luck. Out of water and out of ideas, we pulled in to the nearest house and asked for help. The homeowner opened their doors with Colorado hospitality. To make a long story short, the wife had to pick up a new radiator from AutoZone near home (South Park didn't have any) and bring it over. A few wrench turns, a bit of elbow grease and we were pulling into my garage at 7pm (the same day).

It was great meeting all of you and I hope we can try to do this again. Many thanks for all your support, Chris for the stickers and Doug and B for the bottled water (we would've never made it out without those).

Crux's pictures are so awesome and I just wanted to share our not-so-scenic pictures of Mosquito Pass:

Waiting for the radiator to cool down and fill it up:

The Radiator Hole caused by the bolt that held the tranny cooler in place:

Guess what's missing?

Waiting for the new radiator from my wife:

Oh, outdoorfever, the tires are 33 x 12.5 x 15 on 15x8 black steelies.

Genius, so good that you were able to get home. Sorry you had so much work to do on it, and sorry you couldn't come along. You should come up to fort collins next week with us.

Hey Gene glad to see that you made it home. Darcie and I were worried about you all day. You were on our minds the whole trip and after everybody was heading home we knew that no one was going to be heading your way. We look forward to meeting again and getting in some trails with the kids. I hope they weren't to disappointed.
Thanks for the good words we were glad to help and wish there was more we could have done....Later Doug & Darcie

Gene glade you could get it all fixed up, I guess you owe the wife dinner or something, HUH. No worries about the H2O, that is what it is there for. BTW I liked your runner, I got a black 2nd gen also which i just got a engine for, I hope that mine will look like yours some day!

Later
Brandi
