Borrego Oct. 23rd

4 Trucks 3 Yotas (96 4Runner, 97 Fj80, 98 Tacoma) and a 89 XJ. Temps were down quite a bit. Probably in the lower 90's. Didn't use AC, partly cause mine hasn't worked in a few years

Did part scenic part offroading. Sin Nombre, Sandstone, Fish Creek and Pinyon Mt. Low quality pix, not mine just my buddies. Great time! Fun trails. Easy to moderate with some interesting obstacles at times.

No snakes were hurt. We picked him up off the trail and moved him out so he didn't get run over!!!

Hey I was out there last weekend too. Camped at Hawk Canyon. If I'd known you were out there, I would have joined you.
Then again, I'm still sporting 2wd only.
I recognize the Diablo dropoff in your pics, is that heart attack hill too?

Looks like a good time - Anza is just too far!!! I'm have to get down there. Are there a bunch of random places to go or are there well defined trails? both?

Lots of trails and washes. You can find all of them on a Anza Borrego Desert Park map.

Hey Tony

Yep thats Diablo Dropoff.

The other steeper photos are taken at the spot just down the road from heart attack hill. Since we were with an FJ80, we couldn't go through the squeeze so we went backwards. This is actually the same buddy of mine who drove his (other) Fj80 through the squeeze 2 years ago... HAHAH...8 feet of body damage on both sides! Didn't really phase him apparently. Ended up selling it and getting another LC.

The steeper section, which I am unaware of the name, but its in Fish Creek/Pinyon Mountain is pretty intense. Here is a picture I just got forwarded from my Jeep buddy. We don't know these guys, but, this is the same place. Short wheelbased trucks would have a toughER time for sure.

Nice work keeping the bottom down. I don't recognize this trail at all. I've gone down heart attack hill before but don't remember running into this spot. Is this below heart attack hill and the squeeze?

Ha, yeah thats funny. Its called Fish Creek I believe. Say you go down the through the Squeeze, rear window breaker, heart attack hill, then I believe there is a fork that goes right. There, you go through a few cool little hills and off camber sections and get to this hill. Keep going and you will then hit fish creek, sandstone canyon trail, etc.

So you dropped in there at Diablo Dropoff and went back up towards Heart Attack hill? Sanstone canyon is pretty sweet (scenic) and at a certain time of year there are millions of cacoons hanging on the shadded walls of the slots.
Have you checked out the mud caves? How about Font's Point? Bring a camera for that one.
