9/6/09 Lake Pleasant Exploration pics
Ive been shooting/riding out past Lake Pleasant a million times since i was a kid, but never ventured off into the side trails with my truck.
Decided to go exploring on this sunday afternoon, and glad i did.
After doing about 45-50 through the sand wash i came up on a small trail to the left that hugged the bottoms of the mountain in a small wash/canyon.
bunch of random pics in order that i took them though.
This below is the damage to my ps door after the squeeze
the bed rack fell off as i climbed this rock section.
I realized i left that darn ac compressor on the bed of the red truck, but i grabbed the plastic piece that goes behind teh seat under the rear window(lots of bullet holes, but i can recover it with foam and vinyl i think) some chrome window trims, and a toyota emblem
one of these days we should get a couple more az wheelers and winch that pile out of the trail.
hate thieves who steal a truck, bash it down a trail a stock truck shouldnt go through, then take everything of value off and shoot it up.

I've been riding alot through there on ATVs. Only took my 4runner once. You have a Ellis sticker on the back, does that have anything to do with the Ellis that builds sprint cars?

lol i found that bed rail about a quarter mile before i ever saw the truck. it was in the bushes, and i just decided to put it on my truck, thought it was kind of weird because it fit perfect in the bed rails but was a bit to long.(meant for longbed) it had holes drilled in it so you can put screws or bolts to the bed i guess.
I checked the shifter boots, when i tried to stretch it up, it was ripped on the left side exposing the tranny tunnel.

went back today with a friend after i got off work.
i need to make a rear bumper or bob my bed before i go wheeling again, almost lost a taillight today.
went all the way to the end of the trail though, at least as far as a truck could go(maybe on dirt bike up the waterfall/canyon)
only got a couple pics, learned my friend gets distracted easy and forgets hes holding the camera.
on the way back wrong line, but still drove through cleanly(sliders worked well)

Yesterday i went back to go shooting, and ended up doing more 4x4in and exploring than shooting off rounds(friends saiga 12 firing pin was messed up, kept hitting the shells, but not shooting them off)
these rocks look like fun
there were 5 lines here, the 2 outer most were easy, the one i was trying was moderate, and the one to the passenger side of me was hard.
kind of deceiving in the vid, but the drop was to big for my tires. if i had a better tcase skid plate i may of tried dropping off, but didnt want to chance it at the end of the day.
