4/25/2009 Logandale NV Trails -- Rock Bottom

Spent the weekend at the Logandale Trails outside of Logandale, Nevada.
The wind was annoying, and the temperature swung wildly. We spent Friday
riding ATVs and motorbikes, and were joined by some more people on Saturday
to do a bit of 4xing.

Here is the group.
My green 84 pickup
Cam's tan 89 4runner
Dave's CJ7
and Shawn's pristene white Rubicon.

Dave has 33s and ARBs from and rear

Shawn is new to wheeling, and only ran part of the trail.

Cam tried this step for a while, but 35s and an open front diff were not enough
to get over this obstacle.

This is the first bypass

Shawn on the second bypass

Me on the first bypass. I need to raise my cross member or get 35s
Got high centered. Fun to get rocked around though.

Dave riding a wheelie

At this point, we decided that it was time for lunch, and the dogs had had
enough. So we got out the wash, and then came back and ran the rest
of the trail fromthe bottom up.

After lunch we got started again. After looking things over, Shawn decided
walk it.
Cam climbing up the first climb.

Dave coming up. No body damage.

I walked right up. Gears are great, and a good spotter helps alot.

My new flex with hysteer (thanks Wabfab) and rears up front.

Cam on the notch just before the S-turn. Unfortunately no one had video
rolling for this.

Not much body damage, but he broke an motor mount.

After the S-turn

No there wasn't anything under the tire, it was all sidewall.

Dave flexing it out on the S-turn.

My turn.

After running Rock Bottom, we went back and spend some time at the dunes.
How's this for a 12 year old. Dad hands you the keys to his Rubicon, then
tells you to go jump it.

Beauty shot of my truck on the dunes.

Put the 84 on the trailer cause with the 5.29s and 33, it doesn't go down the
freeway great. I ws a bit worried about pulling it with my 01 Tundra, but
it did just fine. It pulled the hill on I-15 coming out of Logandale at 40 mph,
the same speed as the semi in front of us. And did 60 across Mormon Mesa in
overdrive.

We only did the one 4x trail, there are 6 or 8 more, ranging from 2 to 4+.
Good weekend, worth checking out in the spring or fall. It has all the earmarks
of being hotter thean Hell in the summer though.
