Ahhhh yes, the UT series
Not some of my best, but this was a test I ran shortly after building my new gaming rig back around Christmas time.
I posted this over on the UT 3 forum as we were having a discussion on whether to leave vSync on or off.
Off lets your framerates run all over the place, and can cause tearing.
With vSync turned on, it locks the frame rates per second as the same number of your monitors Hz refresh rate which is 60 for most LCDs.
Pics are to big to post here, so click here to view.

Ir depends.
I really like UT 2004, and the music in the game a lot better.
UT 3 is very good, and many say it goes back to the roots of UT 99 which was the first Unreal Tournament.
But...Epic did a
They joined forces with Gamespy for the browser you use to search for games online in your interface.
Gamespy is notorious for going down, and when that happens, no servers will show, and also you can not log in to the game, as you need a free Gamespy ID which you create in the game.
Many have had a tournament going when Gamespy will go down, and they have to quit.
There is much hatred for Gamespy's marriage to the game spelled out over on the official UT board I use.

We did not have this problem with the previous UT games.
Other than that though, the game is great.
I have not played UT 2004 since picking up this game last November.
There are bonus packs out for it now from Epic and aftermarket, and custom map makers in the sections on the forum that have released classic redos of the older maps like Facing Worlds and many more.

I have that one, well mine is called "Game of the year edition," as it contained a few extra maps than the first release.
That game is loaded on all three of my current running PCs and laptop.
It plays well on the laptop and my new gaming rig since there was both a Service Pack for XP and Vista.
I think we had talked before about a super fast CPU actually slowing the game down to a crawl, and you had to disable one of the CPU cores in order to work.
The Windows Service Packs fixed that.

didnt fix mine, but i did fix it. i turned the resolution on my desktop down and put my refresh rate at 85Hz or higher. did a lot for the game, but still not perfect. so i maxed out the resolution in the game. that did the trick.
