firefox and high cpu usage
I was just wondering if anyone out there that uses a mac has been having trouble with firefox. for some reason my installation has been taking some where between 30 and 70 percent of my CPU. All I have open is this page and engadget.com. Also, this is on a core 2 duo macbook. Let me know if anyone else is having a problem and if you found a solution.
Thanks, Mike

Which version of Firefox are you running? You can always try the nightly release. Also, if the website is running Flash, you may need to upgrade your Flash plugin.
I think they're still shipped with version 8, but there is a version 9 which is much better. It's typically the first thing I do.
If you need to check, in the address bar type: about:plugins, then scroll down to where it says Flash. If it still says 8, then go to adobe.com and download the version 9 for Flash.
I've found on my Mac especially, Flash can suck a lot of cycles. Seems to be due to poor programming. I think version 8 was originally for PowerPC, and had just enough changes to make it run native on Intel. I could be wrong about that though.
