Updating my stereo...Need opinions.
I want a little bit of bass added to my stereo.
Current setup is...
Dash - 4" Alpine SPS-400
Rear Panels - 6.5" Alpine SPS-600C Components
Amp - Alpine MRP-F300 4 Channel
I am thinking of adding a Bazooka BTA8250D BT Series 250-watt powered 8" Bass Tube. Does anyone have any opinions on the Bazooka Tubes? Experience?
Thanks a lot,
Alex

i had a 6.5 self amp bass tube when they first came out. remarkable little things, but wherever you buy it, get the extended replacement warranty, the longest one you can. i had to swap mine out when the amp failed.
anyway, i had that thing in a VW bug convertible (behind the seat, in the "boot"), VW Rabbit (hatchback) a VW Jetta (small trunk) an Audi 5000 (huge trunk) and a VW Quantum (medium trunk)
as long as you point that thing directly into the back corner ( i prefer right rear) you will get very good bass out of it. it sounded good in all my applications. (that's why i kept moving it with me) i think i crossed over at 120hz. this was at least 20 yrs ago.
i found the trick was in the bass wave. they called it "corner loading" or something. whatever, it worked, and it was mounted with straps, so it was easy to remove if you needed the space. very efficient little thing, for what it is. (which is not a bandpass box with 2 12"s, so don't expect gut vibrating bass. just good full spectrum sound)

What's up dude? You going for cheap, ease of use, or what?

Bad thing is, I have no experience with those either. Hell, my sub was free. You've heard it. I will have to figure out an upgrade later as well.
