Anyone running a self amplified subwoofer??
I'm planning on upgrading my sound system and would like to run a self powered sub with an alpine HU with some 6 1/2's. I want something that hits clean bass. Does anyone here run a self amp'd sub? If so how does it sound in your 4rnr. I've heard some decent things about the basslink and the Audiobahn ATB10AT which both are around $180.00(within resonable budget) I'm also open to any suggestions.
I really on listen to ROCK, thats why I'm looking for clean tight bass, no need for huge rattling bass as I think thats more for rap and hip hop.

Thread has nothing to do with 95.5-2004 Tacomas & 96-2002 4Runners
My suggestion would be to delete your thread and repost it in the appropriate section...

If topic doesn't apply to Toyotas whatsoever, it should be in Off Topic

I think the Basslink is much more than $180. I used to run the Audiobahn sub and it was pretty good w/ a stock radio and stock speakers.
When I decided to upgrade the whole system, it would not suffice so I sold it. If you want stock w/ just good bass, Basslink is better than the Audiobahn but at the time I bought mine, Basslink was about twice the price.

With all due respect to the opinions posted above, the audiobahn and the many bazooka's all suck... I've owned a bazooka (3 actually) and installed dozens of em. They all fall horribly short of what a sub should be.
The new infinity basslink II is by far the BEST self amped sub Ive heard yet - and is actually better than some component subs, such as kenwood's and power acoustic's subs...
If you cant fit the basslink II the try the basslink T, this setup has a 250 watt amp, 1 active 10" and 2 10" passive radiators. It sounds quite nice and has some decent thump.

I went to circuit city and they are no longer carrying any infinity audio, they are replacing it with Eclipse. Those basslinks11 are going for around $260 shipped off ebay, with that money i think I'd be better off getting a 10 inch kicker sub and an amp to push it, what to you guys think.
