warped housing?

I was cutting all the brackets off a rear axle from a 95 3.0 4runner earlier. I went at it pretty fast cutting all the brackets off. Then I used the plasma torch to 'grind down' the tall remnants before cleaning it up with the 4.5" grinder.

My phone is dead. Will post pic later.

My question is whether or not I possibly induced enough excessive heat to make the housing warp? I made fast passes. The machine I used was a 30A 480V 3Phase plaz. Set a max heat? I didn't really alternate sides. The axle assemby was resting on metal saw horses. They were placed more towards the differental. Made out of 4" square tube.

While on the stands, differential pointing down, the breather vent started bubbling oil out of it............Now I'm freaking out

i might not be an expert but i wouldnt think that would bent the tubing, u would really have to heat it tell its close to being red to bend it one way to check it if u still have the axles in it just put jack stands under them and rotate it and see if it bows but i would think ur fine,

quite sure your fine. when you weld on it take your time as it will make more heat than a grinder and fast passing with a plasma. overall, those housings are pretty resiliant.

I'd be astonished and amazed if your housing warped from that.

Its fine. Surely since you didn't have the weight of the vehicle on it. It would take alot more heat than that to bend it......
