looking into fixing my rolled truck...

Hey guys.

I rolled my truck about two mounths ago. I want to see if I can cut my roof off and some how have someone fabricate a top for it. Does anyone know of anybody who could do this either a hard or soft top. I plan on putting a roll cage in. Its a 1979 4x4.

They make convertible tops. Check on some mini truck sites. Used to be a company called Ratical Tops.

why not jsut switch cabs? if you weld a top on it, its not gonna be as strong as the original roof. hey i switched cabs, it aint hard. and you have a 79. honestly how hard could it be? you dont have nearly as many sensors as i do

You could cut the top off. Weld up a roll cage. Then take it to a place that makes boat covers. They can sew up a top that uses the cage as the frame.

(enters Scott stage left speaking rather sarcasiticly)

cab swap sounds great. why didn't I think of that. There's a problem with that, finding a cab. With the roll cage it will be just as strong, if not stronger. I'll see if any if any boat place around me will do that. That sort of what I was thinking. I just wasn't sure if they would be able to do that. Thanks guys. Keep them comming if theres any thing else to say.

I rolled mine without a rollcage

I used a sledgehammer, farm jack and prybars. My cousin works for a glass company and put in the lexan windshield. Then made rollcage. Its not the prettiest, but if your gona do it again like I am, then dont spend a lot of money

My body was rotted out b4 this happened, I had to remake floors - wedging diamond plate over the frame and then putting sheet metal down. The door was a tough one, getting it open the 1st time took a little effort. It does open and close, latches kind of hard - the driver one did for a little while. But when it stopped latching i just took it off, didnt mean that much to me. If you put more time in it than I did then you should be fine, i was just anxious to get back out in the mud - notice the 2x4 and sheet metal hood scoop. Baller

Cool paint job. Yeah, I was originally gonna say hell make it a convertable, but damn that thing took a beating. Thank HEAVEN FOR METAL!!!
X2 on the new cab bud, good luck with that.
Maybe you can put a new cab on and still make it a convertable
