Rubbing Driveshaft
Okay, Let me start off by saying that I have searched all over the internet to find problems with this lift and could not find anything.
Yesterday i installed my Sonoran Steel system 1.2 on my 2000 toyota 4runner and today i went to do a little field testing. What i found out was that when the front gets any sort of flex there is a popping noise as i drive forward. I have no idea what this could be. The install was done exactly by the text book.
If anybody has any clue as to what this wretched noise could be, please inform me as i am extremely stressed out as to what it is. Let me know if you need any more information.

Does it pop when you are flexing the suspension or just driving foward on a flat surface? Could be your CV shafts...did you install a diff drop? I'd give Steve a call or shoot him an email

That being said, you should also bounce the question off of Steve directly. He's always willing to try to help if you have a problem.

There's nothing wrong with posting a question... he didn't talk trash about the lift, the company, or Steve. He's just trying to get other people's opinion about what the problem might be.
That being said, you should also bounce the question off of Steve directly. He's always willing to try to help if you have a problem.

You have the front coils on the wrong sides. Yellow-Yellow goes on the drivers side and Yellow-Blue goes on the Passenger side.
The coils have a natural arc which should bow outward, you now have them bowing inward and the passenger coil is rubbing the frame.
This is described in detail in the 1.2 supplement. You should have called me, I could have told you the answer in seconds.

By the way the noise is more of a clunking/popping noise, its pretty intense can feel it shake the whole car

Just postin because i dont want anybody to think im trash talkin the lift. Its actually very nice, lots of flex. Steve is great to talk to on the phone, and full of answers.
Lots of the parts on my front end are getting old due to rust so im gonna start replacing parts until i find the problem starting with ball joints. The diff is fine it doesnt make any noise

Found out what the problem is. When the truck flexes the rear driveshaft moves slightly to one side and when it moves to the side with the gas tank skid, it gets hung up on it and then eventually pops itself off, which is what my noise is. Ill get in there this weekend and do some cutting. Thanks everyone for the replies.

You should have not interference with the tank as long as your tanks and skid are stock, and not deformed into a different shape from hitting rocks.
