New 2006 Limited - 18" Wheels Tire/Lift Options?

I'm new here, just bought a 2006 Limited with 18" wheels - so now I'm thinking what are my tire options.

If I get the Donahoe Coilovers - could I fit the BFGoodrich AT KOs at 285/65/18s
on my stock rims? I don't know how wide (or the offset) of the stock rims, but I have seen at least one peron on here running 33s with the donahoes installed.

Let me know if I am looking for trouble here... but it would be nice to be able to keep my 18" wheels.

Thanks for the help. Glad to be a part of the forum.

First off, welcome!

It will really be helpful if you could get the rim width and offset. The offset being most important. I was in sort of the same boat as you. I wanted to keep my stock 17's, but based on the offset, I didn't think I would be able to fit them without some major modifications. I'm running 33x12.50R17's with the DR coilover's, but on aftermarket rims with the proper backspacing. I also had to trim a fair amount of fender and wheel well plastic to get rid of rubbing. Now the 285/65/18 is not quite 33x12.50, but it is still big. I haven't had time to look it up, so I don't know what the *actual* diameter of that tire is from BFG (they all run a little off spec), that should be something to look into as well.

The biggest problem you will face is that I don't know of anyone who has tried anything with 18's on a 2006, so your results will be different than pretty much everyone around.

If you find out the offset, then you can at least compare that with folks with the same offset as you (albeit a different rim diameter, which doesn't matter *that* much).

Thanks for the welcome, and also for sharing your experiences with your 4runner. BTW your truck looks great! I'll have to do some research on the stock rims and get their offset - maybe I can figure something out. I guess I can try spacers if it comes to that but I rather not.

I was hoping to get away without cutting anything... but I think I'm fooling myself.

Thanks Again,

-Mike

Tire Size

I took a look at the manufacturer's site... the tires measure 32.8 inches.
So... that is pretty darn close to 33! I guess if I tried to go with these there would be some cutting that would have to be done. I'm not so keen on that idea - at least not yet.

I'll try to take some pictures of my rims this weekend and post them up.

Thanks

-Mike
