84 4runner aftermaret rims

I have an 84 4runner and I tried to get 16" rims so it would fit my tires I had on my 92 4runner that had like 95 land cruiser rims that I got from my brother. So the landcruiser rims didnt fit on it because the tie rod brackets hit the edge of the rim. I guess the offset was more neg then the old 4runner straight axles, which had a more positive offset. So I got these rims from discount http://www.wheelsbymbmotoring.com/pr...hp?wheel=Blitz
and they were suppose to fit but the passenger side barely cleared by a cm and the driver side rubbed and I didn't realize it till I was on the freeway and they didn't check like they were suppose to. Now does anyone know if either the offset wasn't positive enough on the rims or could there be something else, like either bad bearings or aftermarket tie rod brackets? I'm taking the rims back tomorrow, but the guy sounded dumbfounded on the phone when I called him.

Usually need 3-3/4" or less back spacing on the solid axle wheels. Stock are 3-3/8".

If it is close, you could allways slap on a 1/4" wheel spacer.

Yeah I went to discount and they said that a negative 6 is the most that they have for rims. I'm thinking the best bet is to get some 1/4" spacers like you said and have them get me a new rim. Either that or buy 17" rims, but then that means I need to buy new tires and the next time I buy tires I want to have my lift done and 33" 's and I don't really have the $$$ to do that all right now. I also went to toyota parts and its definately all factory. Thanks for the help.
