Cruiser buying advice

The wife and I are looking to pick up a Land Cruiser (late 80's so that makes it a FJ62 I think?) to give us a second vehicle (and something bigger than our honda accord). Need some buying advice for one of these trucks. We both really like the looks of it and are both interested in buying a Toyota for it's longevity and quality, along with the tank like size and look to the cruiser.

Thanks

I would try to buy one that has been in tx most of its' life.
That way rust isn't a problem. They are great vehicles but I prefer the FJ60 round headlights, but the 62's are automatics. Please visit ih8mud.com for more advice and info on landcruisers. It is like this site but for Landcruiser's only plus they also have a for sale by owner section where they usually have FJ's everywhere and some at great prices. You may also want to try craiglist.

They made Fj60's from 81-87 and Fj62's from 88-90.

fj80

Thanks guys, I took your advice and spun my browser gears over to ih8mud and it was a very usefull visit. I found a mildly used fj80 (1994 cruiser) here near Dallas that I am going to check out, hopefully it turns out to be in good shape.

Thanks -Sean
