Woke up to snow this morning!

It was nice to get into my 4Runner and actually feel like I was going to "use" it. Although it only amounted to about an inch or so of snow, it still kinda felt good to start her up at 5:45 this morning and turn on the defrost and go back inside to finish my coffee. Pretty soon I'll be heading to work with it in 4 High, perhaps in 4 Low!

Get a remote starter and you won't even have to leave the kitchen table or you coffee...

I can't wait for snow. I got my truck in April, right after it stopped snowing.

I hate winter, but I like the snow for one reason. To drive in it. It doesn't get any better that messin' around in the snow with a vehicle, especially with a 4Runner. I think that the first time we get a good snow, I am going to call up my buddy who owns a Pathfinder and we'll mess around alittle. Can't wait. :fireman:

What's the opinion of the remote starters? Difficult to install?

It sure is. Many companies make remote starters for 5-speeds. Check out Astrostart from Canada. It uses little sensors mounted to your shifter to "see" neutral. If it's not in neutral it won't start. You wont have to worry about watching your rig take off across the parking lot and smashing into someone's Mercedes.

Yeah, but Whitey's point is that you always leave it in gear when you park. When I had my 5 speeds I never trusted the e-brake.

Really Whitey???

I've been slogging it out in the snow for the past two weeks. Ok, it snows, melts the next day and snows again, but I think this last dump may actually stick around this time, at least untill indian summer or the first chinook. The real kicker is getting out of a nice warm Runner into -5*C with a 10 mph wind and having to work outside all day.

Buhhda - Tomus

Buhhda -- I'm north of Denver about 45 miles. Small town called Loveland... nestled in the foothills. Near Estes Park. TOMUS - Thanks for the info, I'll look them up. I could sure use a remote starter!
