They have some sweet toyotas in the stans I know I got to drive some of them. If I told you where I would have to kill ya! I wish I could have brought back some of the parts off of them. Some were even armored!

Thanks for the support guys! I just needed to be reminded why I went with the 4Runner, and ran out and spent another couple hundred dollars on mods- its only money, right? I'd definitely be impeached as pres of 4ROC if I owned that "other" vehicle!
Silver- a jeep doesn't have all that glass in the back like the 4runner, so the damage wouldn't be nearly as bad as a jeep.

A rubicon may be $30,000. BUT, you 3rd and 4th Gen guys: HOw much did you spend on just the base price of your rig. Or better yet, how much does a 2002 Brand New 4Runner cost? (and yes, brand new 3rd gens are still around...but scarce) At least $20k or more for those things. And, they don't have solid axles, or lockers, or 4:1 gearing. Or Dana 44's. You are all looking at it like "Well, my truck that I bought used for 8k and put $20,000 is still cheaper than that rubicon" True, but, its not NEW. You've got 100k miles or more on your trucks. And you are also not considering the cost of your labor. How much is your time worth to you? Think about how much a shop would charge for gears, lockers, and a SAS. A new Runner with all those parts would be well over $30k. SO what is more economical now?

This is the only Jeep to get for $30K

Well I have the best of both worlds, I get to have the new 4runner (yes it gets used out on the trails too, and does ok), and the older Jeep. Jeeps are still nice for how rough they are, I have never broken anything on mine, and don't leak oil, It's definitally fun to take on the rougher trails, and not worry about it, if it gets a scrath no big deal, But i definitally wouldn't want to have it for highway use, I drive it around town all the time, but for long trips defintially not the car to be in Thats where the 4runners have the advantage by far
