Weird Exhaust Tonals
I just installed a cat-back exhaust on my 2000 4Runner SR5 and I have got some awful tonals. I sound like a frieking rice rocket. It's so bad I am embarresed to drive it.
Does anyone have any idea of how I can get rid of this noise. I need som help seriously.

What kind of engine do you have? What size pipes are you running? And what muffler are you running? We can go from there.
Another alternative is rolling up your windows...

3.4 liter v6 with 2 1/2" piping from cats to the RAVIN (midas brand) muffler and then 2 1/2" pipes out the passenger side behind rear tire
btw, the windows are up

hmmmm I'd suggest changing the muffler. I have my 3.0 sounding like it's got a cam - I only wish it did...lol Nice and low. I just have some non-descript "turbo" muffler as the exhaust shop owner called it. That with a custom 2.25" exhuast and a carsound hi flow cat.
Another idea is to mess around with a resonator tip to try kill the ricer sound - I dont know if that will help or hurt though.
