V6 fuel economy ??
Hey, I was wondering what other people with the 3.0 V6 are getting for fuel economy? I have a 91 ext. cab truck with a manual and am getting about 10-12 mpg with about half being freeway and half being in town. If this seems low what should I look at first for being the main culprit? Thanks for any input

20-22 mpg when I had my 3.sl0w 4Runner w/manual tranny, mostly hilly backroads. It hadn't varied much in over 200,000 miles.

I've got a '93 XtraCab with the 3.0. In its early years, I could bank on 22 - 25 mpg in 50/50 driving. Now (145K-miles) I'm getting about 19 overall. Unless you're driving 'way too hard, your 10/12 mpg figure is definitely low.

Thanks for the input. I don't think I drive it very hard as it never sees 4k and unless I'm accelerating hard (freeway etc.) I shift before 3k. The freeway driving is done tailgate down at around 80 mph, and just normal in town driving. I take it offroad in mud or on gravel/dirt trails maybe once a week, should I check my O2 sensor or is there something else I should look into first? Thanks

Just got 18.7 MPG mostly highway 80-90 MPH
I increased my mileage signifcantly by adjusting the flap tension in the AFM. Of coure, check the obvious first.

I get 21 - 23 MPG's Even before I did the mods & R&R I got this type of MPG's! I run 31" tires, but I also run at 35+ psi most of the time. In the winter I air down to 25 - 30 psi when I'm in 4wd and we get a lot of snow, at which time I get around 16 - 19 mpg!
