Toyota e locker
Well, I just asked the dealer today for the e locker price and h the guy said $750 (plus tax locally) complete set up 3rd plus shipping for any out of state buyers. It's for 4.10 and 4.56 gears so I might go for it as soon as I convince the wife about buying it. My question is, is this a good deal or not? I really want to install one since I'll be going to back to my in-laws in Anniston, Alabama this coming deer season. Just got home from 'Bama last night and I can't wait to go back there again.
Later.

If you are ever in Tuscaloosa or further WEST in Alabama, give me a PM!!
I have a relative who owns a wildlife preserve in Heflin, right outside Anniston in Calhoun County. Where do you hunt in Anniston and where does your in law live there?

By the way, I called Jay Marks Toyota for a price qoute and the guy told me it's $800 plus shipping. Let me know who are interested and I'll asked the service manager if they can give us a group buy price.

wow... $750 and $800 sounds pretty good to me. That's a complete diff with gears and locker, right? Just a bolt in replacement for the old one, right?
Can either of you boys get quotes for a complete front diff with gears while you're at it?

Hey guys, Marlin Crawler used to sell a used Toyota E-Locker with 4.88's installed for $750. This was a few months ago. I just checked the website and it is over $1100. You might want to call him and ask what the increase in price was for and see if you can get a deal.
go to products and check out axle upgrades:

here is a question i asked on the forum about it:

I remember seeing those prices too, I just didn't think it was with install. That could be the price difference.
I think there's more to it that just swapping out the 3rd member, I think you need to modify the housing as well. Check out phong's write up.

I am interested. I tried to get one locally and asked 2 dealerships. You woould have thought I had asked them for an engine out of an F-16 - they were clueless. They asked to get back me and each did. However, both started blathering on & on about part after part, how they were not even sure if they were telling me about the right parts, how they were not sure if it would work, how they did not know if they could intall, etc, etc - sorta blew me away.
So, i am interested in a group buy cost, cost to install, if cost inlcudes a RR locker dash switch, etc.
Also, i would like to know if you have a detailed parts list by part number so i could square away the local guys.
As for sweet home AL, UofA in Tuscaloosa is my Alma Mater (Class of 89). Met a bama girl, went in the Army, got out, went to Cumberland in B'ham, went back in & still am in the Army. My inlaws are still in B'ham as are lots of friends so I go there all the time but I do most of my hunting in Dothan, AL.
let me know & thx,
m
