for $25, why not? I voted against stickers initially but after a while i got bored with how my rig looks and decided to play dress up, it's been 4months and it's still on. Surprisingly a lot of ppl come up and ask me if it is a TRD edition 4runner especially the sport edition badge on my two front doors...its kinda funny.

Yeah...I will probably end up getting mine either after I get a professional detail/wax or I may just go ahead and do it...how hard are they put on yourself???

I think they go on kinda like model car decals where you spray the spot where you want the sticker with Windex (?) or something and set the decal on it and while it's wet you can position them where you're happy with them and then let the solution and decal dry and just wipe clean?

Has anyone ever removed their decals? How hard would it be if later on you decided you wanted them off? Isn't the decal like a pice of tint film...almost? Also, when applying, would it be better to wax or remove the wax first?-thanks

I would start with a wax free surface and then wax after the application fully dries for a week or so.

Question

OK so my Stickers came in!! And it sez: To apply stickers on a painted surface.
1) Clean surface with wather and detergent solution.. (Im thinking dawn dish soap right??)
2) These surfaces must also be cleaned with a solvent such as E.I Dupont Prep-Sol Cleaning solvent, 39195, Xylol VM&P Naptha or lacquer Thinner.. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

I am not putting lacquer thinner on my 4Runner!! do I need to do this?? What are these products called in english?

When I installed mine I used 3M polishing compound to get rid if the minor scratches first then buffed it out. Afterwards I used soapy water and applied them..

BTW, the reason you gain an extra 20HP is due to the loss of friction from the sticker surface. Specifically designed to reduce the drag from the air flow across them

<<<Prepsol, VM&P Naptha or lacquer Thinner.. I am not putting lacquer thinner on my 4Runner!! do I need to do this?? What are these products called in english?>>>

Prepsol is a de-waxer. Naptha is Brake Clean. Lacquer thinner is well, lacquer thinner. They will both de-wax the surface and most of us have them in our garage. Neither will harm your factory paint. If you ever have paint work done the first thing they do is dose your plastic emblems with lacquer thinner and peel them off. (That's where I learned this trick...) I've removed mine (and other stickers that I wanted off) numerous times this way, and reinstalled them by wetting the sticky backing with a little lacquer thinner, give it 10 seconds and it's sticky as hell, and stick em back on. Paint not affected.
