Personally I'd rather have a whistle tip!

The bad marketing on products like these drives me nuts!!!
Do these people sincerely believe they work or is it a deliberate ripoff?

Anyway, there are some products that do work like an electric S/C.
http://www.electricsupercharger.com/

.....700 watts and 50 amps only gives you 1 psi of boost!!!
http://www.electricsupercharger.com/eRAMvideo.mpg

AND the ones that don't!

now how is one of these supposed to make more power (thanks eBay!)?

Check out this add:

my favorite quote:
"These do work since the companies that do sell them are still in business, right." ROTFLMAO!!!

As an aside, I can't tell you how happy I am to see a thread on here where people finally "get" that these stupid intake inserts do nothing. I have been in on several threads where people here swear that the Power Toilet or some throttle body spacer gave them umpteen more horsepower. *sigh* Just look for the folks who proudly list them in their signatures.

I applaud you and this thread for spreading the good word

I agree Rob....if people can just remember one simple saying:

"There are no free lunches!"

People would not get duped nearly as often.

I'm wondering how an electric "supercharger" is supposed to have a variable output. Since we all know that air/fuel demand varies greatly depending on many factors most of which is engine speed, how does an electric compensate? Or does it run at one speed giving 1psi boost at idle and less (even to the point of being a flow restriction) at higher speeds?

It just provides 1 psi of boost regardless and only comes on at WOT.
Not much need to regulate that since your engine wants max air.

Jamie discovered the real reason why slow 3L V6 is so slow because it's Gerbal power.
Hamster power once was the secret to Toyota's 18RC engines.

Here's a Ricer version:
