securing spare to roof rack
For all of you who carry your spare up top... how did you secure it to your rack/basket? I'm going to move mine up there for a while, but I'm not going to spend ~$80 for a spare tire mount. So it would seem that staps would be my best bet... anyone come up with a good way to do with out having an actual spare tire mount?

hey man-
when i had mine up there, i just used some nylon straps i had around the house, which were both pretty thick. also, i went to the local ACE hardware store and picked up some metal wire incase in clear plasic tubing (ha, sorry, dont know what its called, best decription i can come up with) then, i looped the two ends and popped a masterlock on it. while i had it up there, it was pretty secure, and only slid around a bit. i know this isnt that good of an idea, but, it got the goal accomplished. im sure someone else will chime in with a better solution. best of luck
