seafoam in through TB?

seafoam in through TB?
I have researched alot of threads @ this application. I have a '94 3.0. I was thinking @ cleaning the TB and intake with seafoam. One thing that confuses me is, when some talk @ using a vacuum line off of the TB to apply seafoam, they warn @ thinning the oil and throwing a rod or some other type of damage. How does the seafoam get into the crankcase if you are putting it in through the TB? The intake and exhaust are completely seperate systems from the crankcase and it should not be able to get in there. Some have said to use the pcv hose for this application, and I could see how that might let some of the cleaner into the crankcase through the top of the valve cover and mix with the oil. The only other way I could think of would be for it to slip past the rings on the pistons. Does anyone have any input or experience @ this?

The seafoam when introduced through the intake gets past the valves as well and when the engine dies, and you are waiting for the recommended five minutes, the stuff sits in the combustion chamber. I am not sure if five minutes is long enough for it to seep past the piston rings and enter the crankcase, but the chance is there. I think either way, you should do the seafoam then change the oil as soon as you are done anyway. Also, if planning to change the Cat, I would do the foam first too since you may be spewing carbon junk into the tailpipe. If you have an old cat, might as well take the chance. Good luck
