surely you guys know where I can get a safari rack!
I was looking at the fiberglass part of the top today, and the rain guttering is fiberglass also. Is it ok to put a rack up there?

Not sure how to mount to it, but Rome (seafarinman) had one mounted to his truck fiberglass cap, so it could be the same scenario. A few to look at are Con Ferr, Surco, and Wilderness Rack.

I have a BVG (Bauer) cargo basket with the extension. I had it mounted on my truck canopy using a set of Thule bars and a "Gutter Foot" pack. I also was running a set of artificial rain gutters that I had to drill and bolt on to the canopy. Now I am running the basket on the truck cab with the extension removed, and a set of Yakima Plus-Nut Top Loaders.
Before with canopy:
Now without canopy:
You could also get some "tracks" installed and be able to adjust the fore/aft spacing of the crossbars. You could also get one of the baskets that has feet that bolt right onto the roof as well.
Good Luck.

He's running what looks like two Yakima Mega Warriors on his roof.
I have the yakima Load Warrior on my rig.
Good quality.
It's a little less wide than the Mega Warrior unit.
PS, I have some pics of the Load Warrior on Todd's 1st gen, but I am in the midst of rebuilding my website, so they are not up yet.
