Replacing O2 sensor on MT 3rd Gen

I just tried to replace the O2 sensor on my wife's '99 but the connector is mounted on top of the tranny, out of sight and difficult to get to. Anyone else replaced a O2 Sensor on a manual tranny 3rd gen? Got any tricks?

Mounted to the tranny? Most O2 sensors mount directly to the exahust. If it is just the eletrical connector then you should be able to find the clip and pull it out. then just put the new one in. but i have an Auto so i don't know for sure...

I've never replaced an 02 sensor on my truck, but I do know that you can access the top of the tranny by removing the trim plate at the base of the shifter.

That did it....
I had to pull the tranny access plate on the inside, remove the shifter, have one person hold the needle-nose pliers and pinch the clip on the connector while I got underneath to pull the connector. All said and done, it was a whole lot harder than on my '95 and I still have to reset the computer. Pics coming.
