Rebuilding a sway away coilover
Would it be better to get a new shock or or have the original shock rebuilt, by replacecing the shock shaft and the seal. Thanks for the help.

I don't know why you would want to purchase a new shock if yours can be rebuilt and you don't need to replace the shaft, unless you ruined it - just get the seals and synthetic shock fluid. I use the Amsoil shock therapy suspension fluid, medium #10 weight. It’s an easy job and I think the nitro fill was the most expense item - $10.00 per shock.

I don't think you need Sway-A-Way seal kits (mucho bling) as you can pick up the O-rings at your local hardware store - that's really all you should need besides the fluid. I think the Amsoil synthetic ran in the neighborhood of $8.00 a quart, the O-rings were less than $10. I've got Fox shocks, non-coilovers, so they are a little quicker to rebuild.
